Detox is short for “to detoxify,” or to remove toxins or poisons. On occasion, the soul needs this process to remove toxins that have crept into our minds through life experiences. If wounds have affected your thoughts, your will, or emotions, these detox teachings is about removing those poisons so you can live the spirit led life that God intended for each of us.
Many people are blaming things on the devil that truthfully is not the devil. The devil may be the instigator, but we humans are choice driven. Many people just cave in to what comes into their mind or into their emotions (feelings).
Many people have the feel good mentality. If something eases the mind and satisfies the flesh, many people just do it. Soulish (Self) gratification has destroyed many lives, marriages, friendships and relationships.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
In order to be the people that we want to be and the people that God wants us to be, we must take control of our mind. You will never be any more than your mind allow you to be. As long as our minds are conformed to this world, we are subject to its ways. We will only be transformed by the renewing of our mind. The more our mind is renewed, the more we are transformed! That's the WORD truth!
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Before the fall of man, man had a living soul..
Before the fall of man, we had a living soul, fueled by the Spirit of God. Our thoughts were pure, godly and kind.
Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; For I shall yet praise him, [Who is] the help of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
After the fall of man, we now have a cast down soul as a result of sin. David spoke to his cast down soul and detoxified it. Hope thou in God! He told his soul what to do! He took control of his thoughts and his emotions! We must remove the poisons, toxins! We must train our soul to bless the Lord at all times! That defeats distractions!
2 Corinthians 10:5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Imaginations are picture thoughts written on the canvass of your mind. Feelings are emotions that try to dictate our moods. Emotions, vain and negative thoughts must be dealt with in an authoritative manner. Cast them down! Verbally renounce them, bind them and command them to go from your mind. David did it to his mind!
Soul detoxing is about acknowledging what's there, repenting for what is there, forsaking what's there, renouncing what's there and filling the void with praising and worshipping God!. Ps. 103:1, 2, 22 & Ps. 34:1,2
Philippians 4:8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
God knew that we would deal with mind (soul) issues, so He told us how to deal with the mind. He has told us how to think and what to think on to stay free from soulish bondage. Managing the emotions, and especially the mind is key to controlling the soul! WE must renounce the negative and confess the positive word of God!
